The food was good, the customer service on the other had was terrible. The lady that helped me must have been having a bad day because she was grouchy as hell.

Love it got the 24 inch enough to feed six people!!!!

Expensive, but good sandwiches. Terrible unwelcoming attitudes. This is the 3rd time I go in and attitudes are the same. This was the last time I’ll ever go there. I do feel that they prefer only certain types of people.

I really like this place. They have been around for a while and I can see why! There probably my new favorite sandwich shop in Modesto, there tuna sandwiches are probably my favorite thing there. My only complaint is that there are always so many people there😂

Biggest sandwiches on the planet. I love going here because the sandwiches are simple, but loaded with meat. Salads are also enormous. Staff is always friendly, even though they are super busy. I love this place.

I used to eat at this place all the time. I moved away 18 years ago. I came back to visit and had to see if it was still the same. Just like I remember. The BEST DAMN SANDWICH EVER! Prices are incredible for the amount of meat you get. The bread is amazing and the staff are great. On this trip I went to the The Petrified Forest, The Grand Canyon, Sequoia National Park, and Yosemite. But, I think lunch today at The Sandwich Shop was probably the highlight of the trip.

The best sandwich shop in Modesto! I work a little bit of ways from the shop, so I always fax over my order before heading out to grab my lunch. Worth the price you pay! Makes Subway look like toddler food. You get at least a half a pound of meat on your sandwich. Made to order any way you like it. The ladies are always friendly and fast. The shop is always packed around lunchtime, so finding parking may be difficult. If you need to turn left when exiting the parking lot, you will end up waiting for a lot of traffic. They have unique sandwiches like "the Modesto special" and they also provide catering. I do believe they offer a small selection of sides such as potato and macaroni salad, but their sandwiches are so big and filling, I know I'll never have room for a side, so I've never ordered any. They also have cookies, bag chips, and fountain drinks available. I don't even bother with going to any other sandwich place because they just aren't worth the price you pay.

Writing a review for The Sandwich Shop seems pointless... Everyone knows about it and Everyone Loves it! I guess I could mention to call ahead because they are Always busy (and rightfully so) even with 8 or so workers there are more people that love thier sandwiches to keep them all constantly busy. I once over heard someone say they order thier pickles by the barrels, which reminds me, the pickle spear you get with each sandwich is the perfect touch! If you Moved to Modesto Yesterday and haven't had it by now, go right now and get a Hot Pastrami... I am overly confident you will Love It!!!

Food was yummy. Service was iffy. I'm not sure if they were having a bad day or they just generally have bad attitudes but a few of the women working there had sour faces and weren't very friendly. Other than that food was great. Might order ahead next time to avoid the unfriendly service.

If you want to some meat on your sandwich for a fair price this is the place. Modesto special pastrami is thick and probably the best sandwich around.

SSOOO GOOD!! Sandwiches were so good my family and I loved them. The customer service was great too. The lady taking my order recommended me to try a certain sandwich and it was spot on. We will be coming back for sure!!

I want to taste my sandwich in all its glory and not the deli meat that it comes with it. My bread was also stale and chewy. Very disappointed in the quality of my sandwich for the price I threw out over half my sandwich because of the bread!!!

Great tasting, fresh sandwiches. Daily soups also! A nice little cozy place. I don't know why previous reviews didn't like the "rude" employees because I have had no issues in numerous visits. They were actually very helpful and patient. Go give them a try!

Sandwiches were good, little hard to understand through the face Mask, had a few seats for dine which was nice during the Covid-19 problem, just was a little shocked that they asked for .45c for a to go box ? When you eat in .. and I guess with the new rulings for food service you have to ask for Napkins now ..

Great place. Sandwhiches are the best in town.. The staff is great. Have gone here for years and never disappointed. They are doing a great job with the safety of their employees and customers. You can feel comfortable getting your food here right now to go. Masks required and everyone had one on.

It's good but I don't see what the hype is about.

Stopped in with the family and we all got something different. There were 5 mini corn dogs for the kids and they had premade, prepackaged PB&J's... This is a sandwich shop right? Roast beef was store bought and then nuked... Meat portions were very generous but man the quality just wasn't there.

So Glad I found this place!!Shamefully I just found this and have lived in the neighborhood almost 9yrs. If you want a Great Deli Sandwich, you can't find better. All Fresh ingredients. This is my new Sandwich Place, and can't wait to try the soup and other items.
